  • Cross Media Content Based Information Retrieval Facility based on ECLAP images

The trial of ECLAP for Content Based Information Retrieval allows you to test the usage of different CBIR algorithms (selecting them from the list box that appears on the left side, once you selected the first image from the entry page) in finding similarities and thus in producing recommendations among images, video, documents, animations, and thus among CROSS MEDIA coming from ECLAP service and archive (Http://www.eclap.eu).

The demonstrator is going to compare against those presented other recommendations systems that you can find from ECLAP itself and which are presently based on text analysis. The full data set presently consists of about 100.000 objects coming from: images, documents and video cross media objects of ECLAP. The indexing model adopted an accelerator that allows you to obain the similar objects in a very fast manner and can scale up to millions of content items.

  • ECLAP and LOD

ECLAP provides linked open data URIs for content and for the taxonomy terms

Example of ECLAP LOD for a content: http://www.eclap.eu/drupal/?q=lod/urn:axmedis:00000:obj:04e0caef-b33b-4f4a-ba50-a80d96766192 (via Q&D RDF browser)

Example of ECLAP LOD for a taxonomy terms: http://www.eclap.eu/drupal/?q=lod/term/501 (via Q&D RDF browser)

Please note that these URLs are not simple links that can be used by a normal web browser. If they are used in that manner they bring the user to see the content/terms and not the LOD. They have been modified (as described in the following) to be used mediated by a web based RDF browser such as the Quick and Dirty RDF browser which  provides and RDF description of the content.

  • Automatic and Sequential annotations for MyStoryPlayer

On ECLAP portal and in other contexts there are several videos that are suitable for some new kind of annotations.
There are many videos coming from the same event and divided in sequential/synchronized parts that can be collected and annotated with the purpose of building a playable structure in which the user can navigate and view them in a interactive and synchronized manner on MyStoryPlayer facility.

In figure 1, an example of Toni Servillo videos which are present in the portal is show.

Figure 1:example of structure annotation with Tony Servillo lab videos

see full description on training page.

In the above Figure 1, two arrows are present, indicating the entry point in the non linear structure.
If a user enters in the point indicated by the blue arrow (by accessing to the MyStoryPlayer icon   3 on that video ), the story will begin from there. While entering from another icon could lead you to start from the red arrow, see  the story from there .
